The world of foldable smartphones is about to see a major shakeup as Honor prepares to launch the Magic V Flip 2. Leaked specifications suggest the new clamshell foldable could feature the largest battery ever seen in its category. While the company has not confirmed an official launch date yet, recent leaks hint at an August debut in China.
According to renowned tipster Digital Chat Station, the Honor Magic V Flip 2 will pack a massive 5500mAh battery. This would make it the most power-packed clamshell foldable to date, outshining competitors like the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 which offers a 4300mAh battery. The previous-generation Magic V Flip came with a respectable 4800mAh battery, so this marks a significant leap in power and endurance.
But it’s not just about size. The new battery will reportedly support 80W fast charging, an upgrade from the 66W charging seen in the current Magic V Flip model. That means quicker top-ups and better day-long performance, which is especially crucial for users looking to get the most out of a foldable device without compromising on usability.
Performance upgrades are also in the pipeline. The Magic V Flip 2 is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4 processor, giving it sub-flagship level power that can easily handle multitasking, gaming, and high-resolution media. On the display front, the foldable is likely to feature a 6.8-inch Full-HD+ LTPO inner screen and a 4-inch Full-HD+ LTPO outer display.
