OnePlus is ready to expand its tablet portfolio in India once again. The company has just teased the launch of a new device set for July 23 at 12pm IST, and all signs point toward the OnePlus Pad Lite. While OnePlus has already revealed the OnePlus Pad 3 and is expected to announce its pricing soon, the nature of this teaser suggests that something different is on the horizon. The silhouetted image released online shows the outline of a tablet, sparking strong speculation that the Pad Lite, which has recently launched in global markets, is about to make its Indian debut.
The OnePlus Pad Lite was recently introduced in the UK and some parts of Europe earlier in July. The tablet is currently up for pre-orders in the UK with a starting price of GBP 169, which is around Rs. 19700, for the Wi-Fi only version with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage. There’s also a Wi-Fi and cellular version with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage priced at GBP 199, approximately Rs. 23200.
This new tablet is expected to sit below the premium OnePlus Pad and Pad 3 models. It offers a good balance of design, display, and performance at a more accessible price point. The OnePlus Pad Lite comes with an 11-inch HD plus LCD display that supports a 90Hz refresh rate and can reach a brightness level of up to 500 nits. It aims to deliver a smooth and comfortable visual experience, whether you are binge-watching, browsing, or attending online classes.
Under the hood, the tablet is powered by the MediaTek Helio G100 processor. It is paired with up to 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. On the software front, it ships with Android 15-based OxygenOS 15.0.1 right out of the box, offering a clean and responsive interface tailored for productivity and entertainment.
One of the standout features of the OnePlus Pad Lite is its massive 9340mAh battery. This ensures long usage hours without the need for frequent recharging. The device also supports 33W SuperVOOC fast charging, allowing users to top up the battery in a relatively short time. For audio, it includes a quad-speaker setup certified with Hi-Res Audio, making it suitable for streaming and casual gaming.
The camera system is basic but functional, with 5MP sensors on both the front and back. These cameras are designed more for video calls and document scans than serious photography, which is expected at this price point. In terms of connectivity, the Pad Lite offers support for Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.4, LTE, and USB Type-C, covering all the essential needs for modern tablet users.
If OnePlus does launch the Pad Lite in India on July 23, it will likely target students, working professionals, and everyday users looking for a budget tablet that offers solid specs and reliability without burning a hole in their wallet. Given the company's track record, it could also bring competitive pricing and exciting launch offers to the Indian market.
