The Indian smartphone market is gearing up for another big release as Realme prepares to unveil the P4 5G. Scheduled to launch on August 20 alongside its Pro variant, the new phone is already making headlines with its specifications and aggressive pricing. Realme’s Chief Marketing Officer Francis Wong has confirmed that the P4 5G will start at Rs. 17,499, a price that includes limited bank discounts. This puts it slightly higher than its predecessor, the Realme P3 5G, but still within striking distance of the highly competitive mid range market.
What makes the Realme P4 5G particularly interesting is the blend of performance and features it brings at this price. The device runs on the MediaTek Dimensity 7400 Ultra 5G processor and is supported by a dedicated Pixelworks graphics chip, a rare offering in its category. This combination is expected to deliver smoother visuals and gaming experiences compared to rivals in the same price band.
The phone is also designed to impress visually with a 6.77 inch AMOLED display that offers a refresh rate of 144Hz and peak brightness of up to 4500 nits, making it ideal for bright outdoor use and fluid scrolling. Backing this display is a massive 7000mAh battery, one of the largest in its class, with 80W fast charging support to ensure that users spend less time plugged in and more time on the move. Realme has also equipped the device with a 7000mm square vapor chamber cooling system to maintain performance during heavy usage.
For photography enthusiasts, the Realme P4 5G carries a 50 megapixel main camera paired with an 8 megapixel ultrawide lens, while the front hosts a 16 megapixel selfie shooter. The slim 7.58mm frame ensures that despite the massive battery, the device does not feel bulky in hand.
The launch comes at a time when India’s smartphone shipments are rising steadily and brands are racing to capture younger audiences looking for performance and value. By combining a powerful chipset, dedicated graphics support, an eye catching display, and strong battery life, Realme is positioning the P4 5G as a device that can compete not just with domestic rivals like iQOO and Vivo but also with global mid range challengers.
