Vivo has officially introduced its latest addition to the G-series, the Vivo G3 5G, and the smartphone is already grabbing attention for its impressive balance of performance, durability, and affordability. Positioned as the successor to the Vivo G2 5G, which debuted in early 2024, this new device is designed to appeal to users who want reliable performance, long-lasting battery life, and essential modern features without stretching their budget.

The Vivo G3 5G comes with a sturdy build and has even earned SGS five-star drop-resistance certification, which adds an extra layer of assurance for users worried about durability. At the heart of the device is a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 processor paired with Mali-G57 GPU. Buyers will get options of 6GB or 8GB of RAM, while storage comes in either 128GB or 256GB, depending on the variant. The higher storage option uses UFS 2.2 technology for faster read and write speeds, while the base variant with 128GB comes with eMMC 5.1.

A key highlight of this device is its massive 6000mAh battery. Vivo claims it is designed to maintain battery health for up to five years, which makes it a long-term companion for heavy users. To complement this, the smartphone comes with 44W fast charging support, ensuring that the battery can top up quickly when needed. This combination makes the Vivo G3 5G particularly attractive for users who are constantly on the move or rely heavily on their phones throughout the day.

On the display front, the handset features a 6.74-inch LCD panel with a resolution of 720x1600 pixels and a 90Hz refresh rate, promising smoother scrolling and a more fluid experience for gaming and video playback. The screen also has a 20:9 aspect ratio and a 1500:1 contrast ratio, delivering decent visuals for its price category.

Photography enthusiasts will find a simple yet capable setup with a 13-megapixel primary rear camera and a 5-megapixel selfie shooter. While not designed to rival flagship camera systems, this setup is more than adequate for casual photography and video calls. The device runs on Android 15 with Vivo’s custom OriginOS 15 layered on top, offering the latest software features and updates.

Connectivity options include 5G support, dual-band WiFi, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, a 3.5mm audio jack, and even an IR blaster, which is a welcome feature for controlling household appliances. The device also includes a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security and convenience.

As for pricing, the Vivo G3 5G starts at CNY 1,499, which is approximately Rs 18,300, for the 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. The 8GB RAM with 256GB storage model is priced at CNY 1,999, roughly Rs 24,300. At this price, the Vivo G3 5G firmly positions itself as a competitive mid-range smartphone that balances affordability with modern features. Currently, the device is available only in China in a Diamond Black finish, with no word yet on global availability.

The Vivo G3 5G is clearly targeted at consumers who value strong battery life, practical features, and reliability at a fair price. With its combination of hardware and competitive pricing, the device is set to challenge other mid-range offerings in the market.
