The Kenko Life, a Bengaluru-based health-first food startup, has secured an undisclosed amount in a seed funding round led by Rainmatter, Zerodha’s health-focused investment arm. The round also saw participation from angel investor Aniketh Jain, Co-founder of Kaleyra.

Founded in 2023 by Neeraj Kumar and Vivek Chandran, The Kenko Life is redefining how urban India eats by merging taste, convenience, and science-backed nutrition. The startup currently serves 800+ active subscribers across Bengaluru, operates four cafés, and delivers more than 21,000 meals every month — all carefully curated for calorie balance, portion control, and nutritional accuracy.

Strategic Expansion Plans
With the new funding, The Kenko Life plans to deepen its presence in Bengaluru and expand operations to Hyderabad, marking its first step toward scaling across India. The funds will also be used to enhance product development, strengthen kitchen and delivery infrastructure, and invest in data-driven personalization through a soon-to-launch consumer app.

Over the next 18–24 months, the company aims to:

  • Expand to six cafés across major cities

  • Launch a mobile app offering personalized meal recommendations

  • Introduce two new product lines: Protein-Packed Low Calorie No Sugar Desserts and High Protein Indian Thali Meals

Building a Smart Nutrition Ecosystem
Kenko is focusing on building a full-stack health food ecosystem powered by technology, nutrition science, and sustainability. Its roadmap includes developing clean-ingredient desserts, standardized calorie-counted Indian Thalis, and an upgraded eco-friendly packaging system.

The company also plans to scale its nutrition counseling services, enabling users to make smarter food choices. Through focused marketing campaigns, Kenko hopes to increase awareness of calorie- and macro-counted eating habits among urban consumers.

Backing from Zerodha’s Rainmatter
Commenting on the investment, Nithin Kamath, Founder & CEO of Zerodha, said:
“At Rainmatter, we want to support founders solving real problems in health and nutrition with a long-term vision. We are happy to back the team at Kenko, who are making healthy food tasty, affordable, and accessible. Healthy food in India has often been boring or unaffordable — Kenko is changing that by making it enjoyable and scientifically balanced.”

Founders’ Vision
Neeraj Kumar, Founder of The Kenko Life, highlighted the startup’s mission to make nutrition effortless:
“People don’t want another diet chart. They want food that fits their day, not the other way around. We’re building an experience where healthy eating feels natural backed by science, consistency, and home-style comfort.”

Vivek Chandran, Co-founder, added:
“Healthy eating shouldn’t feel like a compromise. This round enables us to personalize nutrition through technology, expand into Hyderabad, and make everyday healthy meals accessible to every Indian household.”
