Ahead of its July 8 debut, OnePlus has confirmed major features of the Nord CE 5 including a powerful 7,100mAh battery, 80W fast charging, and a 50MP Sony sensor. Launching with the Nord 5 and Buds 4, the device targets performance and longevity in a mid range package.

OnePlus has officially confirmed that its upcoming smartphone, the OnePlus Nord CE 5, will launch in India on July 8. Alongside it, the brand will also unveil the Nord 5 model and its latest truly wireless earphones, the OnePlus Buds 4. Ahead of the event, key specifications and availability details have been revealed, giving users a clear idea of what to expect from the company’s latest addition to its popular Nord series.

The OnePlus Nord CE 5 is shaping up to be a standout mid range device with some high end features, especially in battery, performance, and camera departments. The phone will come equipped with the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 Apex chipset built on a 4 nanometre architecture. It will also pair with LPDDR5X RAM and the Mali G615 GPU, offering better performance and power efficiency. This new processor makes the Nord CE 5 an exciting contender in the upper mid tier smartphone market.

A key feature that is already drawing attention is the massive 7,100mAh battery. Paired with 80W SuperVOOC fast charging, the phone is expected to fully charge from zero to hundred percent in under an hour. OnePlus claims that a 10 minute top up can offer as much as six hours of YouTube streaming. The phone also supports bypass charging which can help reduce heat during gaming or heavy use by sending power directly to the motherboard instead of the battery. To ensure long term battery health, the phone features Battery Health Magic, a smart charging system designed to optimise charging patterns and reduce wear over time.

Camera performance is also receiving a major upgrade with the OnePlus Nord CE 5. The phone will feature a 50 megapixel Sony LYT 600 primary sensor with optical image stabilisation. This large 1 over 1.95 inch sensor promises improved low light performance and sharper image quality. The phone also brings advanced imaging capabilities like RAW HDR, Real Tone colour calibration, and Ultra HDR for Live Photos. These are the same imaging technologies used in the company’s premium OnePlus 13 series. It also supports 4K video recording at 60 frames per second, making it a powerful camera phone in its category.

In terms of availability, OnePlus has announced that the Nord CE 5 will be up for sale from July 12 via its official India website, Amazon, and offline OnePlus retail outlets. The Nord 5, its more premium sibling, will go on sale slightly earlier on July 9. Both smartphones are expected to be offered in multiple colour variants, though the exact shades have not been confirmed yet.

The launch event will also mark the debut of the OnePlus Buds 4, a new pair of true wireless earphones. These earbuds will reportedly offer a total battery life of up to 45 hours including the case. The earbuds alone will offer up to 11 hours of playback on a single charge. They will feature intuitive touch controls with slide gestures for volume control, Steady Connect for reliable Bluetooth performance even outdoors, Dual Device pairing, Google Fast Pair, and even an AI translation feature for multilingual convenience.

The OnePlus Nord CE 5 launch appears to be a calculated move to deliver premium features at a more accessible price. With a focus on charging innovation, camera capabilities, and battery longevity, OnePlus seems ready to compete aggressively in the crowded mid range market. The combination of a large battery, fast charging, flagship level camera features, and the newest chipset from MediaTek makes this phone one of the most anticipated releases of the month.
